it's difficult to turn a show into a movie without it feeling forced. we'll see how the simpsons does. if they can pull it off, i'll have faith for family guy.

The quality of Family Guy has definitely dropped since it returned. For a show that blatantly ripped off The Simpsons in so many ways, it sure didn't take a very long time to have the same problems that current Simpsons episodes have. Mainly, I'm referring to smalltime characters being used in almost every single episode (Disco Stu in The Simpsons and the perverted old man in Family Guy jump out the most). This use lowers the hilarity of the characters.

I'm not a Family Guy hater. But the DVD movie was not that good. It just didn't work.

The perverted old man ("Herbert") was in every episode last season, for no reason what so ever. . and it was just ridiculous.

They also need to reduce the number of times Peter says "This is just like the time I . . .. . (insert random pop culture references here)" it's only funny once or twice an episode, the rest of the time is just lame.

The show died when it came back from cancellation. Plans for a big screen adaption might as well be canceled.

The last season of Family Guy was horrible. It had a few great moments but they're so spread out that it doesn't even matter. I could go on and on about why the new episodes are so bad but that'd take forever so I'll simplify it -- MacFarlane needs to stop all these new projects and focus on Family Guy, then go back and watch the first few seasons to research what made them so great. If it becomes funny again, THEN they can consider making a movie.

I used to LOVE family guy. I watched it religiously from the time it aired through all three of its cancelations on fox, and when it reappeared on adult swim and later on DVD I watched em all over and over again. That being said, I think the show just hasn't been the same since it came back. It's too redundant, moralistic, and just doesn't have the edge that made it so great to begin with.

There was a time I thought it was the greatest show in years. Now, most of the episodes are pretty forgettable.

Then again maybe South Park just ruined it for me. Magic tricks aren't as impressive when you know how they're done. Horrible analogy I know but it kinda makes sense.

The pre-cancellation series was definitely more consistantly funny than the post-cancellation series (which is not to say the latter doesn't have its moments). I seriously question whether the show will hold up for another 2 years considering its present downhill cline.

The trend seems to be making a movie of a given cartoon series after the creators have run out of material (the Simpsons hasn't been worth watching for several years, and started a steep downhill decline almost a decade ago).

2 years? That does not seem to bad since it took nearly 8 for the Simpsons. And I doubt that they have lost that many fans over the years. If anything, they would have made more since kids who could not watch it have grown older and find it humorous as is appears on reruns and DVD shelves everywhere.

Family Guy was a very funny show for it's first three seasons, then it got canceled, i was sort of happy as the third season was a little bit lower then the first and second, but then they made a fourth season... it had it's moments but i didn't watch it like i used to anymore... then the straight to D.V.D movie came out..... I Will admit that it was not terrible, but most of it just seemed like an excuse to say the f word, which i found pretty lame..... overall family guy sucks now as instead of using more original stuff it is just using old things too many times (the gay old man, the chicken fight) those were two very funny things, but apart of the reason why they were so funny is because they only pretty much used them once.... now they are running out of ideas. Same goes for "Simpsons"...... but everybody has heard enough critisicm against them.... i will see the movie as i do find old episodes of the show very funny, but the real reason why i actually want to see it is because the new trailer for dark knight (as i hear) is attached........ anyway i think that they should have made the simpsons movie 10 years ago, maybe even 5 years ago....... but this is a really bad time to make a simpsons movie. I Am hoping they will cancel the show after this.

What's with all the hate on Family Guy!?! I love that show! THe first seasons, while incredible, aren't that much better than the ones now. There are a few episodes in this season that rank as my all time favorites! Oh, and what's with bashing the old perv? He is absolutely hilarious no matter how many times they use him!!

and south park is very funny! but which is funnier Family guy vs South park? i think it varies from episode to episode. I couldn't say one show in it's entirity was funnier then the other. they are both funnier then the simpsons, even old classic simpsons were never as balls to the walls funny as FG and SP...It may have been a better show but not funnier. (of course only my opinion).

ALthough Futurama was the BEST and close to the funniest show ever. and that's a FACT!!!)

I have a friend who absolutely loves Futurama. I've never understood why it's so popular. I like Bender, Zoidberg, and Branagan, but other than that it's sort of lame. Most of the jokes seem so forced.

FUTURAMa has grown on me over the years and i can't wait until it returns. unfortunately, for FRY and the gang its show will clearly be remembered as at least the fourth best adult cartoon after 1)simspons, 2)south park and 3)family guy. in my opinion, south park is the first but i figure thats how most will rate them. In fact i wouldn't be surprise if KING OF THE HILL is ahead of futurama because it actually has been a remarkable show that has survived:

1) fox never ever giving it the proper respect or attention on their sunday lineup. no matter the accolades, fans, and praise it got

2) it never was cancelled and needed a miracle revival to make its legacy.

3) also, all the top three shows i listed aboved futurama have all recognized it with some endearing parody while futurama has only gotten Matt groenings's personal attention in some quick moments that are insignificent.

Love futurama but i think king of the hill will and SHOULD be remembered as the fourth greates show of this era ahead of futurama. sorry if that hurts, people.

i like south park and all but i don't belive family guy's just all complete trash. i belive that family guy is inconsistently hilarious even though some ppl or things do show up a little bit too much (old man, chicken). However, it does contain some original jokes (come on "Steel Vaginas"? lmao when i heard that) what i would really want the most besides a family guy film is another aqua teen hunger force movie. god that show is just too much even thoguh its 10 minutes! another south park film would be wonderful too.
