PeeledLabelZ writes: on Sep 27 2007 08:19 AM I don't mind remakes. A remake to me is like seeing the same play twice, but with different actors and directors, each giving their own interpretation of the material. Both very different, but still entertaining. (Reply to this) |

Prosper761 writes: on Sep 27 2007 10:41 AM As long as the target audience is 14 year-old boiys who don't know any better, Hollywood numbers crunchers will continue to churn out mindless remakes, inane TV rehashes and dopey sequels. Sad, sad, sad... (Reply to this) |

dracus writes: on Sep 27 2007 11:28 AM In reply to this comment (#1152438) Fantastic Voyage is an incredible little sci-fi spy movie from the mid 60's starring Donald Pleasance and Raquel Welch. A team of scientists and doctors are put inside a submarine type ship, shrunk to the size of a microbe and inserted into the body of a Russian agent by a needle to perform a life saving surgery. The surgery has to be performed within a time frame before the ship and crew revert to normal size. Great story and even after 40 years, the special effects hold up pretty good. (Reply to this) |

I mean come on. Innerspace was the remake. I hope they at least go inside a ninja or a pirate or a ninja-pirate. At least! (Reply to this) |

Legen-dary writes: on Sep 27 2007 01:09 PM Hmm...who do I trust more to make a GOOD movie? James Cameron, who made "Aliens" and (even though I don't really like it, I acknowledge what it's done for filmmaking terms) "Titanic"...or Roland Emmerich, who made such stinkers as "The Day After Tomorrow" and "Godzilla"? ... ... ...gonna have to go with Cameron on this one. Sorry, Roland! :P (Reply to this) |

pwnsauce3k writes: on Sep 27 2007 02:42 PM And Nick Cannon plays the feisty first officer who falls in love with a white blood cell and decides to stay shrunk. But then the guy's heart asplodes and Ben Affleck has to run away from the asploding blood asplosion toward the camera in slow motion. And then the little kid stowaway has to pilot the ship out of danger because the real pilot got died when he tried to secretly get a tissue sample of the host guy's body because he's like some awesome super soldier, and the terrorists wanted the secret. But then Will Smith killed the spy with a punch to the face and said "Daaaaaaamn." And the smoking hot, 22-year-old actress the producers think they can turn into a Ph.D genius by putting glasses on her is looking through the microscope all worried back in the big world because GUESS WHAT? The stowaway is HER kid! But it's okay because the little kid can pilot the ship because its just like his XBox game and he gets really big eyes and goes "Whooaaaa, raaaaadical!" And all the heroes laugh and high five at the same time. But then they find a tape recorder from Jigsaw telling them it was all a trick/trap and then the ship explodes and you find out you were actually watching Saw 5, brought to you by Carl's Jr! The End. farleydave3 writes: on Sep 28 2007 12:00 PM I actually got to see Roland Emmerichs most recent pile of sh... I mean, movie. It's called 10,000 B.C. and is a total fabrication that seems to be based on very little facts about the time period, it's watered down for a PG-13 rating which means "bloodless" fight scenes and cheesy comedy/sidekicks, and so on. If this, added to the last few Emmerich films is any indication, Voyage will suck harder than Britney Spears on the VMA's! (Reply to this) |

Sprizmo writes: on Sep 28 2007 12:37 PM Why won't James Cameron just do what he was meant to do and that's give us a decent Aliens sequel. I'm talking the Earth should be crawling with those things. Weaver seems to be needing something like that. (Reply to this) |

HFGIII writes: on Sep 28 2007 12:44 PM I refuse to see this movie unless there is a role for an animatronic Racquel Welsh poured into a transparent wet suit. renodc writes: on Oct 02 2007 09:11 AM Roland Emmerich's success has been mostly attributed to his films' larger than life special effects. If you close your eyes and just listen to the story and dialogue you would say, "Oh my God, this is horrible". Roland Emmerich slamming James Cameron's writing is like Jessica Simpson coming out saying that Jodie Foster can't act. (Reply to this) |

Lukemitch25 writes: on Oct 06 2007 03:55 AM Roland is one of those bigger fools in Hollywood. To completely throw away James Cameron's version of Fantastic Voyage? And, not even giving it a chance? That's so stupid. James Cameron, the man who made Aliens, T2 and Titanic? That's simply foolish. (Reply to this) |

dashRENDAAR writes: on Dec 11 2007 08:39 AM Personally I am looking forward to a remake of "Fantastic Voyage". It was on my list of Sci-Fi films I would love to see remade. "Forbidden Planet" Being another. I'm a nobody, however those are actually two film scripts I have written for my own amusement. They are both not completely done; But just to show my enthusiam towards this project. "Moby Dick" would be great remake too. DONE RIGHT!!! that is. Yeah I am a huge James Cameron fan as well, and having him do "Fantastic Voyage" would have been better. Long live the M.D.F. (Miniaturized Deterrent Forces) (Reply to this) |
