The intellectual cut-and-thrust of the courtroom is largely absent here, and the denouement seems slick, arbitrary, and derived from the Captain Queeg catalogue.

This reviewer is one of the few, the proud who can "handle the truth"! He is absolutely right. Aside from Jack Nicholson's and Kevin Bacon's performances, this film has little to recommend it, except maybe for its unintended comedic value.
