this isn't news, anybody who saw FD3 knew there would be another. they're not that bad. they're by NO means great...but i see the Halloween remake, then the Saw's...and these don't seem half bad compared to them. one was pretty good, two was decent...three was laughable. 4 should finally kill off death and end the series.

i'm waitin' for Scream 4(prequel?) to come out. i think its just a matter of time...fits the whole "tired horror series" agenda movie makers seem to have nowadays

The original director of the series is much better, including his screenwriters, and they worked on FD 1 and FD 3. FD 2 was not as good as these other two, b/c they brought on another director and screenwriter. Now they want to bring these hacks back. If the original director doesn't want to continue the series he made, don't go around his back and hire someone not as good, just to make another one.

Overall, the Final Destination series has been pretty good, I don't want to see them ruining that.

Maybe it should be about someone that sees a big death happening, avoids it, but the people that should have died die even worse deaths.

Nah, to original.

I actually like these movies. I love how they combine the seriousness of the main characters with the cartoony death sequences.

Anyway, Three should've been the concluding chapter, but it turned out to be a remake of the original. So I guess this fourth film should tie up the loose ends instead.

Ok.... But they're really going to have to do something different, there is no overall plot to the films as a whole. The same thing happens everytime

************* SPOILER *************************

Everyone always dies. No one is left alive, and no one figures out how to cheat death. I mean they're interesting movies, but the movie needs to move the plot forward..... it shouldn't just be "Ok here is the cast for this movie, and they're all going to die in weird ways :) "

My vain pitch to try to end the whole franchise for good: Dude working for the State Department is able to through one action after another, set off a Nuclear Holocaust...which in turn destroys all mammalian life on Earth. The rest of the formulaic premise for the next 1 and a half hours is how they try to stop it, but they can't.

Final seconds of the film shows the main character riding on top of the last Nuke to destroy known life like Slim Pickens...last frame is a mushroom cloud. Some bubble gum punk rock like Good Charlotte or Green Day blasts over the speakers, credits roll...and then 3 years later we all post how pissed off we are to hear they're making--incredulously --Final Destination 5: The Prequel...and on and on and on...

I absolutely love these awful movies. This is how you make throw-away comedy horror.

If I could write all the straight-to-DVD Final Destination sequels, I would be one happy camper. I'd set my first sequel in the Amish country, as a brief respite from all the "water machine=death" scenes that are frankly getting a little too predictable.

Jebediah envisions a horrific horse carriage accident and stops it from happening. But Death is pissed, and responds with butter-churning accidents, farm animal stampedes, and a square dance gone fatally wrong. Jebediah realizes the key to stopping the machinations of Death is to venture into the big city and get the help of the only man who has cheated Death and lived...Lance Armstrong.

Recently on Rottentomatoes.com there was an interesting article on movies not making money. Is this just another way to milk to hell out of some terrible garbage to begin with? Put these movies in the same ilk as Captive and the Hostel movies as torture porn. Why do we, as consumers, have such an appetite for torture and death? Recent box office receipts have shown that the more adult oriented comedies have made tremendous profits, as they always have. Why not invest into something different and funny?

I must say, although, I am a fan of the Saw movies as they at least show some idea of the psychological impact of our actions, not just Death trying to really make you die and punish you for not dying in the first place. Quit making this non-sensical garbage and try something different.

I say great news & keep 'em coming. These are true horror films.
The death sequences are imaginative & suspenseful. Good to see the team from the 2nd film back, as I thought the second one was the best - it really tied in well w/ the first, and the car crash sequence is a horror classic. As is the bus scene in the first, and the glass & wire fence scenes in the second. Few horror films today have memorable death scenes & these movies are packed w/ them. There's been a number of tie-in novels so, hopefully, we haven't come close to seeing the last of Final Destination.

I've said it before, there's probably no other series that captures the imagination and fascincation of viewers more than the FD films. If they wanted to, the filmmakers could keep it going, and going, and introduce new characters for each installment. But I think movie goers will be bored of just seeing people die in accidents. Unless, for the proposed 4th film they really mix things up and introduce death as more of a spirit/entity than a presence. That might work.

it might be a good idea there are a million near death sight gags you can do with this premise .I thought the first one was ok but the girl getting hit by a bus going well over 70 in a quiet little intersection that was way tooo much i never forgot it and to this day that was one of the lamest shots i have ever seen. I thought 2 was better than one myself way better i actually kinda got it what they were trying to do it had better set ups i haven't seen the third one but the i do want to see the rollercoaster crash to see if they pulled it off right how it looks ect. But i can see a 4th movie i just think they should figure out a better title than Final Destination 4 but hey 3 -d why not I personally will not be in the audience due to wanting to keep my vision correct into my later years and lack of trust for the Govt. The Man and his Technology which we are told is there to entertain us but low and behold has a free ride into my central cortex...no thanks. Low Jack someone else. Why do you think it looks "3-D" if subliminal advertising is against the law and has been proven to manipulate the will..... What do you call 3-D?....Nothing..you buy a ten fifty bucket of popcorn a seven fifty coke slam on your 3-D glass's sit in your stadium seat and scream out "Take me!".."I want my MTV or.... 3-D!.. or.. whatever is next !" with out ever once asking were you are going. Well when your blind at 40 or suddenly wake up in totalleran state yet can remember how you got there you just remember your little 3-d glasses that you thought were so cool and they let you keep so you could put them on your wall then i want you to remember that nagging little headache that formed in the first hour, look into the mirror in the bathroom of the little cubical numbered 6578589002351118 or in your case "home" you know by your bed and gel food rations before you head off to work of course alone becuase marriage has no function in the state becuase we procreate thru tubes nowadays for the "greater good" and to save on emotional bonding and therefore revolution and realize you have no-one to blame but yourself.....oh and 3-D. ...oh and if you are wondering what happened to the rest of us ..well we saw it coming and so did the state and since there arnt to many people who could resist a good 3 -D flick we where grossley out numbered and shot dead years ago.:)

They appeal on the most rudimentary fears and psychoerotic fantasies.

As long as the writers can continue to thing of unique ways to finish off good-looking teens with sudden, gruesome deaths, this will just go on and on.

I bet it's about some kids taking a trip somewhere and they avoid an accident, and then they spend the rest of the movie dying in the order they should have died in when they avoided said accident. I'm just taking a guess...

the poster who suggested FD4 be set in amish country, while the commentary was tongue in cheek, the premise might actually work..ok, not setting it in amish country, but instead, have it be a polemic on society's overabundance on electronic objects. take it back to the basics, maybe even a period piece or set it 50000BC...grak and grunk, two neandrathals (sp) are supposed to die in the tar pits, but a freak rainstorm keeps them in the cave..however, death is cheated, so grak is sent out to collect wood and grunk must start the fire...grunk uses some flint or rocks, but catches his fur loin cloth on fire, and is emasculated by the fire and consumed by flames just as lightning from the storm strikes a tree and it falls on grak, squashing him like from a bugs bunny cartoon...then the camera pans back, its actually the dont taze me bro guy, he is a cartoonist and is copying cheap, tired, lame horror films and posting them on websites like *watchtube* and creating bogus press releases and posting them on movie info/self-aggrandizing spanktro-centric sites like "fetidcarrots.org" or "SMF.net" (sh%ttymovieforum = SMF)

i think that Final Destination 4 will be interesting. it was recently confirmed that Final Destination 4 will be in 3D and the premonition scene will be a race car wreck and the debris will fly into the stands (audience) and kill or miss spectators. in my opinion, 3D was a great choice, but Final Destination 3 should have been the 3-D film of the series.

Final Destination 4 is going to be awsome, I can't wait to look foreword at the new deaths! They should involve a metal shopping mall sign that falls off wires swinging down and slicing someone down the middle, a person slips and falls down up against a wall at an iceskating rink and another skater falls at an angle jamming the skate blade into the person's head, and also have someone working at a fast food resturant (would be even cooler if it was the same one that frankie got a chopped head in FD3) and reach in and get stuck in a metal trash compactor then have the compactor malfunction because soda has dripped out of a torn hole in the bottom of a trash bag and onto a split wire causing the compactor to smash the victem in half. I also have pleanty other ideas if anyone would like to email me

I might go see Final Destination 4. I must admit, I do hate the fact that FD3 and FD4 are stand-alone films, but the deaths are at least interesting. I figured FD4 would cover a disaster at sea for the premonition, since planes, trains, and automobiles have been covered, taking care of land and air. Apparently, it'll feature a NASCAR crash. At least it'll be interesting.

The thing I hate the most is the fact that they haven't brought back the two survivors from FD2. They just dropped them completely and brought in new characters. In my opinion, a series works best if some of the characters return. Like, the survivors from 1 return in 2 and get killed, but new ones survive. In 3, the new survivors from 2 return and get killed, but with new survivors, etc. You keep bringing back the survivors from the previous installment and kill them off, but also end with new survivors to bring back in the next installment. That way, the movies are linked together, and a some-what actual storyline plays out through the entirety of the films.

actually baz050 if you pay close attention to Final Destination 3 right before she has the premonition about the subway crash that finally kills the last 3, there is a brief look at a newspaper that a bum is laying on, and it shows pictures of the survivors of Final Destination 2 on the front page, and they die of a freak accident. I just finished watching 3 and i almost didnt catch it! so yep they all always do die! this movie is prolly gonna suck too.
