Joss Whedon follows up his hugely successful BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER series for Fox with FIREFLY, an action-packed fusion of the science-fiction and western genres. Set five hundred years in the future, FIREFLY depicts a troubled world after a massive universal civil war. A truly great series, better than most science fiction movies you'll see in the theaters.

Audience Reviews for Firefly - The Complete Series

In my opinion, the very best Sci Fi series ever created. No aliens, but very real people. Full of serious adventures, but with loads of humour in the lines presented by a perfect cast. This has become a cult classic, as it was saboutaged by the distributors, Fox; but due to the pressure from it's many fans (the Browncoats), Joss Whedon was later able to write a complimentary film called Serenity. Ten years after the show was killed, the fans, cast, crew and creator, Joss Whedon, still say it's the best thing they ever worked on. The wish for a resurgence continues, and shows no signs of going away. Recommend watching Firefly before Serenity. Then become a Browncoat.
You can't stop the signal.

It's Sci-fi with real heart and complex characters that interweave beautifully. I think all the fans would admit to wishing they were a member of the Serenity crew. It's high adventure with witty banter and incredibly likeable characters. Very well written and crafted with love by Joss Whedon at the top of his game. Shiny.
