I read some of the other reviews for "Follow the River". It seems if you have read the book, the movie is disappointing. I haven't read the book. I enjoyed the movie. What is the saying? "If fate hands you lemons, make lemonade." Mary Ingles makes the best of her situation, but in the end decides it better to

It?s a bit too melodramatic, but it is still an entertaining film. Ellen Burstyn, as usual, delivers a fine performance. Well photographed, effective location filming in North Carolina. It is an interesting story even if it isn?t fully convincing.
