Nothing ever goes right for Michael Makeshift: his fiancée has flown the coop, and if it weren't for AA meetings, he'd have no companionship at all. Michael can't even keep a real dog -- he has to content himself with a video simulation. Then Michael's not-quite-honest brother unexpectedly arrives, along with his new (and unconscious) bride, Valerie. Soon, Michael's on the run with his sister-in-law, trying to escape from the repercussions of his brother's shady deeds.
