Jackie Chan Picks His Five Favorite Movies -- And Only One of Them Stars Jackie Chan
Summary
It's Hollywood-meets-Hong Kong as Chan and Li play mentor to a hapless teen (Michael Angarano) whose obsession with classic kung-fu movies lands him squarely in ancient China. But what movies shaped Chan into the actor-filmmaker-superstar he is today? Back to Article

The Tony Show writes: on Apr 19 2008 06:30 AM Great list. I love Jackie, but there must be a language barrier that prevents complete and utter BS from translating into Chinese for him to like An Inconvenient Truth. (Reply to this) |

Ashron writes: on Apr 19 2008 03:23 PM In reply to this comment (#1693685) What exactly was wrong with JP? As popcorn flicks go, it was pretty damn good. Had me on the edge of my seat and still holds up pretty well. Maybe you're confusing it with its lesser sequels :-) (Reply to this) |

AFuneralMaker writes: on Apr 19 2008 09:33 PM How do you not like Jurassic Park? I feel like you said you didn't like it out of an attempt to get approval from the film elitists who would typically call a popcorn film garbage. However, everyone loves Jurassic Park. Failure. (Reply to this) |

Trufire writes: on Apr 20 2008 12:38 AM I just watched JP again the other night and thought, "Wow. These Special Effects are still top notch!" Not to mention it is still highly entertaining. I like this list too. Sound of Music though did suprise me. Jackie Chan to star in a martial arts musical now! :-D haha (Reply to this) |

minderbinder writes: on Apr 21 2008 09:08 AM "everyone loves jurassic park"? I loved it when it came out. But I don't think it has held up well to the test of time. The FX still look good, but the dinos are a TINY part of the film. And the other parts of the film have some really lame stuff, bad jokes, tons of filler, and Spielberg's achilles heel, nonsense about kids and their bad relationship with their dad. Don't get me wrong, the movie is insanely awesome whenever the dinos are onscreen, and some of the action scenes before and after that. But that's only about 10-20% of the movie. (Reply to this) |

minderbinder writes: on Apr 21 2008 09:09 AM And I know this is asking for trouble...but I actually liked JP3 better (2 was horrible). (Reply to this) |

John Z. Delorean writes: on Apr 23 2008 05:48 AM I'll agree with Police Story and won't even front like I would ever watch Sound of Music but definitely not what I expected from Jackie but that's a good thing. JP is a great popcorn movie and lots of fun, can't be mad at that. (Reply to this) |

BluMizu writes: on May 11 2008 01:10 PM any one who claims not to have "liked" JP has his head up his butt. Talk about a summer popcorn movie. I mean if you were looking for substance/ nutritional value you should have gone somewhere else....Also i don't want to assume how old the people here are but...at like 13 were you really THAT discerning? Not to mention that for the time JP was a KILLER visually. You sound like a movie snob my fellow movie-phile. An obvious one. (Reply to this) |
