Davies plays Nick Knight, a former vampire who has renounced his former way of life in order to seek redemption. Now a homicide detective working the meanest streets of Toronto, Nick is aided by Natalie (Catherine Disher), a pathologist and the only human to know his secret, and the seductive vampire Janette (Deborah Duchêne), who remains loyal to Nick despite his renunciation of vampirism. Nick also has a bumbling but lovable partner, Detective Schanke (John Kapelos). As he goes about the business of protecting humanity and fighting evil, Nick must also resist the efforts of Lucien LaCroix (Nigel Bennett), who initiated him centuries ago and is determined to bring Nick back into the fold.
