This movie is based on Robin Cook's novel "Outbreak". A deadly virus is killing people in Los Angeles and it is up to the CDC to find out what it is and stop its spread. They find out that it is a strain of the Ebola virus last seen in Zaire many years ago. One of the CDC doctors Marissa Blumenthal looks deeper into the situation and finds out that it is stranger than expected. The movie does a good job at following the book, probably more so than most others in this genre. The acting is not spectacular and there are sections that can get a little slow. This movie will appeal to those who enjoy who enjoy Robin Cook's novel and possibly those who like medical thrillers. Keep an open mind on this one as it will not appeal to all.
