The long-standing on-again, off-again remake of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" finally looks to be underway over at Paramount. "Freaky Friday" and "Mean Girls" director Mark Waters will helm the remake from a screenplay by Richard LaGravanese ("The Fisher King," "The Bridges of Madison County".This project has bounced around Hollywood for the past several years; filmmakers previously involved include actor Jim Carrey, directors Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg, and screenwriters Chuck Russell, Peter Tolan, Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel. Based on the 1947 Danny Kaye film of the same name, "Mitty" is about a meek and mild writer who daydreams of becoming a powerful hero.
