He has since been named... Freddie McGregor is one of the foremost Jamaican reggae performers, and has been so consistently over the course of his long career, which began at the early age of seven. He has since been named the unofficial "Ambassador of Reggae," becoming one of the most popular performers abroad, as well as a legend at home. Never content to rest on the laurels of fame, Freddie sees it as his duty to continue to grow, to push the envelope in music and in life, and thus his career has thrived through the many changes that have occurred in reggae over the past 30 odd years, including the emergence of dancehall. Freddie has a diversity of accomplishments to his name, including starting his own record label Big Ship, playing for Nelson Mandela and Prince Charles, and being the first reggae performer to play for the Hopi Indians of Arizona. This enthusiasm and energy is apparent on this rare, live release, a collectors item on which Freddie electrifies the crowd, playing his many hits from throughout his illustrious musical tenure.
