Critic Review - Q Network Film Desk

easily the worst film in the series up until that point, partially because it was so redundant, but also because it is the most technically clumsy

I disagree. Part 4 is by far the worst.

But they gave him a new mask! They also added a little backstory and character development for the victims, which is something new. And they also have a lot of scenes outside of the Camp Crystal Lake setting. I think they left enough of it the same so it feels like a true sequel, but they changed enough so that it really doesn't feel that redundant. But of course this all depends on if you like Jason at all. If you don't care for the character than you should have known you wouldn't like this before you watched it. And btw, Part 8 is the worst. Every other film in the franchise was either slow but creepy enough to maintain your interest, or not scary at all but still a lot of fun to watch, especially with all the self-parody. Part 8 was the only movie to be boring and non-scary. And a little advice: if you thought this was redundant do yourself a favor and stay away from the Godzilla franchise.
