I don't know much about the law, but I know enough to assure you that "From the Hip" is completely implausible from beginning to end.

Audience Reviews for From the Hip

Has a sharp shift in tone between the first half and the second plus Judd Nelson is not the most charismatic leading man but the story is decent and there are excellent performances by Nancy Marchand, Darren McGavin, Ray Walston, Alan Arkin and particularly John Hurt who steals every scene that he's in.

This is not very well known, a real sleeper from the 80's but sooo funny and clever! Seriously, it's of those favorites my Husband and I have watched over and over, great flick! DVD.

It goes from being kinda funny to way serious very quickly. I couldn't decide if it was a comedy or a drama
