At some point you have to ask: When are fantasy fans going to tire of heroes and villains throwing bolts of energy at each other? Give it a rest already!

Usually there's more to Fullmetal than Good super-powered individuals vs. Bad super-powered individuals. I haven't seen this, and am not sure that I need to. The original series ended properly, years ago.

have you seen Brotherhood? It's follows the original manga much more closely and has a bigger budget. Honestly if you liked the original I'd say Brotherhood is the definitive version.

I honestly don't know why I brother checking this site for movie reviews at all anymore considering every time I check a review out their is a moronic jackass who writes the most pretentious and close-minded review simply because he doesn't "understand it" are you an incompetent fool?Because Fullmetal Alchemist isn't hard to understand yes its a multi-layered story with a vast amount of scope and depth to spare built on the ideals of many themes like the human condition and sacrifice yet you scoff at it simply because you can't comprehend it?I thought it would be common sense to know you walked into an existing franchise with two television series and one movie already made so yes starting with The Sacred Star of Milos isn't the best way to experience the story when you missed the entire backbone of the Fullmetal Alchemist Story with the first two television series that explains everything your fragile mind can't process. Its like walking in on the television series Lost in the last season and expecting to get everything the story offers when you haven't seen the previous seasons before it.The Sacred Star of Milos easily stands alone as an exciting and well made animated film in its own right that will introduce a vast amount of people to the wonderful world of Fullmetal Alchemist! That's why the film was made to simply entertain and blow people away with its fluid animation and rich and layered characters that have become iconic in the world of pop culture.I believe its best you put your condescending tongue to rest and leave the movie reviews to the professionals who are more open minded and actually have something worthwhile to say.

Well your opinion doesn't really add up to much when you can't even give an legitimate reason to why you feel so coldly about Fullmetal Alchemist.
Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the finest examples of what anime as an storytelling medium can truly accomplish! No I'm not arrogant I was simply stating my disagreements with this hack's review.

The weeaboos are strong here.

I think the review is what it is, if you don't like anime, at least the newer crap then this won't do much for you.
The movie has nothing compelling that drives me to dive into it. I don't want to call it cliche, but it feels like a lot of modern anime, you see one, you seen them all.

I will admit i don't like anime anymore in it's current state. Childish, repetitiveness, and unoriginal. It no longer holds a candle to the glory days of Fist of the north star, or ghost in the shell, Macross, and akira.

This movie is great if you love modern anime or the series, but past that, you'll think it's a cartoon for adults that's a step below south park and the simpsons.

You sound as arrogant as you claim those who don't like this movie are. Way too makes a good point.

FMA, in my opinion, has been beaten to death.

personally you sound like an upset fanboy crying because some don't like what you don't like.

I gave my reasons why I did not like the film and also stated reasons some may or may not like it.
That's my opinion, I'm not going to apologize if you're going to cry over it. I love akira, but if you don't that's fine, but I'm certainly not going to come off as some uptight arrogant chauvinistic asinine odoriferous individual because others disagree with my taste or opinion.

So you say it's one of the finest examples, and I can't give a reason. Even after I state i'm not much a fan of modern anime and prefer the older style while giving reference to anime that I liked. I also said if you're not into anime or the series it may come off as a cartoon for adults.

Cry about my opinion all you want, but at the end of the day it still stands.

Ha ha What a pretentious cunt!I highly doubt you've even seen the film yet your blindly judging it!I could care a less about your close minded opinion if you don't like the franchise so be it what I find comical is that your on a Fullmetal Alchemist comment section complaining about how much you don't care for the anime! Why in the hell would anyone waste their time by commenting on a review of a film they clearly don't care for I suppose your time has no worthwhile value to it.

To "I am the vast universe".

Seriously, your childish remarks are embarrassing for Fullmetal Alchemist lovers to read. "Way to Much Steam" gave their opinion. Don't bash it. I'm a serious fangirl when it comes to this franchise, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be a jerk to whoever doesn't agree with me.

If you are going to bash anyone, let it be to whoever wrote this review. And I say this only because his article was poorly formulated.

When are gangster fans going to tire of mobsters shooting at each other? When are western fans going to tire of arrows being shot from bows? When are sports fans going to tire of footballs and baseballs being thrown? When are science fiction fans going to tire of laserfire? When are critics going to tire of the sounds of their own whining?

You give it a rest.

While I don't agree with your review at all, I was not a fan of the movie. Why?, because the FMA manga, and FMA Brotherhood anime, were well thought out, and intelligent series. It had believable characters, none of which were just super good or super bad like the traditional anime. Each plot had various well thought out sub plots, and even though certain characters had some superhuman abilities, they still abided by the laws of physics for the most part. The fact that edward did some crazy flips off the top of a train that I can't explain sort of annoyed me. The alchemy was kind of sloppy and not explained, and crazy stuff happened everywhere at once. Logic did not exist in the movie. Also, ed and al took a backset to Julia's story. The setting was cool, and the idea in theory sounded great, but the direction the movie took, did not please this diehard fan of the series, solely because it was nothing like the series he loved.

Their was plenty of intelligence and logic in this film its fine if you didn't like the film but don't go spouting nonsense that isn't true.

Dude, people can express their feelings. It's not a crime. I'm honestly not sure about the movie yet, because I haven't seen it. That's why I come here, to see what other people have said about it, and whether they liked it or not. Of course, I'm going to end up seeing it anyway here in the near future, because I'm just one of those huge FMA fans. I'm honestly not sure why they even made this movie yet. Maybe it was to keep the fanbase happy, maybe not. But I do know that the way you are criticizing people is not right. People are free to speak their minds (1st amendment) here, and tell what they thought about the story. If they did not like it, it lets other people know what to expect. Yeah, some people might not be into the same types of Anime as you, or the person next to you, but that does not give you the right to tell them that they are wrong for thinking that, and then speak their mind about it. I'm not saying that you are not free to speak your mind also, but maybe you could do it in a not so rude way from now on, and maybe let others speak as well, not just you. Now, I may be only 13, but I can tell you this, I have much more maturity than you sir.
