Happy Friday Harvest, a weekly round-up of the best pictures, posters, and videos that have become available for viewing/download on Rotten Tomatoes. Each section features the favorite or most interesting item we've added for the week, along with several other new highlights. Enjoy!

Picture Gallery of the Week: Funny People

Can Judd Apatow save the blockbuster drama? I'm talking about the heyday of James L. Brooks (Broadcast News, Terms of Endearment), comedic dramas about people that garner Oscar nominations AND make over $100 million at the box office. It's a long shot: the last movie to do so was Brooks's As Good as it Gets in 1997, while the lukewarm critical to Funny People is working against its favor (The 40-Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up both made over $100 million, but they were Certified Fresh). Hey, at least Apatow didn't lose any friends making the movie, judging from these pictures. Browse the gallery.

Poster of the Week: Ninja Assassin

The mild gray credits block and white background allow everything else to jump from the poster: the figure decked out in black, the bloodstains, the weapon. Showing only half of the Rain's face makes it feel chaotic. A perfect slice of pop art, fitting for a movie advertised as a throwback to violent 80s action flicks. View the poster.

Video of the Week: TRON Legacy VFX footage

A sequel to TRON's been a long time coming, in several ways. Here's one of them: this VFX test footage was shown as a surprise at last year's Comic-Con and only now it's become available online. But it's been worth the wait: the action is crisp, well-shot, and utterly enticing. And this coming from a guy who doesn't even like the original. Watch the video.

Thought the other Ninja Assassin poster looked a little better but that trailer was bad-@ss. The Tron Legacy footage was amazing and I'm hoping that the new Nightmare on Elm Street will be as awesome as that poster is.

If I were to judge a book (or in this case a film) purely by its cover then Nightmare on Elm Street is going to be so awesome.

I know this might sound weird, but I wonder if we might finally be seeing the return of good Horror movies? I mean, we had My Bloody Valentine (not great, but I hear its completely unpretentious and knows its a dumb movie), Drag Me To Hell, and Thirst came out this year. And then we have The Collector, which looks like it actually could be good. AND we have movies like A Nightmare on Elm Street, Sorority Row, Jennifer's Body, Cabin in the Woods, and Daybreakers, movies which to me, all look like they will be good to amazing. And who knows, maybe, just maybe, A Perfect Getaway, H2, FD3, and Saw VI could be good (though that's highly doubtful, I know).

Nuff said. The training footage alone looks more spectacular than almost any post-matrix Hollywood brawling. In case you haven't seen this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OI4PK0X_4GQ

Honestly with the way horror movies have been lately it wouldn't be hard to improve, but I agree it seems like there's been a recent upswing in the genre. Hopefully it's not as dead as previously indicated.

Seems like Cabin in the Woods is an Evil Dead knockout. Or maybe an homage... let's hope the latter...

Poor Kelly Leak. He's getting typecasted as a weird-looking freak with a mean streak. First Rorschach, then Freddy Kreuger.

BOREDDDD Of Horror remakes now! I just watched the new friday 13th film, my god, YAWN!!! I didnt bother seeing the ending. Same love triangle that featured in the horrible AVP-Requiem. Even that was better because Aliens and predators are at least more fun to watch than man in mask with knife. Any aspiring teenage wannabe film maker could have made a friday 13th film. I cant believe people slurp this **** up.

One thing going for Kruger however, is at least it can be a bit more creative, with its dream sequences etc. Freddy was always best at this sort of thing because it includes freaky fantasy elements, so its more than slash run scream, just about.

Expendables could be very entertaining, Rambo-4 was awesome. And this has a great cast, welcome back 80s action!

Ong Bak 2 is a lame prequel. The first one was amazing, but the second one doesn't even stick to muai thai. It is about a group of martial artist from around the world who happen to converge in thailand. Here is the torrent file for the movie: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5007515/ONG_BAK_2._MKV_(2008)_English__french_synchro

Sorry but NO MORE REMAKES. We are in a recession and I am not going to shell out any dollars for nightmare on elm street. unless it gets a fresh pick, and even then I will have my doubts what ever happen to ORIGINALITY. I understand if a 80 show was never made into a film. But with popcorn costing 20 dollars, I'm not paying to see a 80's or 90's classic remade to get more money. Sequels maybe but remakes forget it. Writers and directors are not even trying anymore
