Miaka and Yui find a bridge into another world through the magical book "Universe of the Four Gods" at their library. But once they arrive, the discovery is made that they are priestesses for opposing gods whose countries are at war. Each side seeks to summon their god to win the conflict, and both girls assemble a team of bodyguards to protect them on their quests. The classic metaphor of the imaginary power of literature is used to construct the grand fantasy of FUSHIGI YUGI. VOLUME FIVE contains seven episodes of the series, where tragedy strikes Miaka's team and Yui gains ground in their opposing adventures. [More]
