Futurama: Bender's Big Score Reviews

The first Futurama movie proved that the show could work in a longer running time. It's filled with references for fans and has lots of laughs. The story is engaging and touching, like all the best Futurama episodes. It never quite reaches the heights of the very best episodes of the show, but it's very close and very rewatchable. A treat for fans

Dear god. What a hilarious movie. Side Splitting, tear bringing comedy. So funny, not only that but a good plot

Why does it get the praise that it does? It's just a far cry from the fantastic TV show it was continuing from. The characters' voices are too light, the presentation is too bright, it's not very funny save for one joke, and the plot, well it was fine until time travel was brought into the occassion. And don't get me started on Lars' development.

A Futurama movie that works on all levels. I consider this the peak of the series, and considering this show's incredible consistency and quality, that's saying quite a lot.

I still don't understand why its called Bender's big score. Bender isn't even the main focus of the story but that doesn't matter this is still a funny movie

Just as funny and clever as the show, but with a surprisingly emotional ending that I didn't see coming.

Perfect 5 stars because it was funny, interesting, and it tied everything together at the end with a bittersweet twist. I seriously cried at one point.

If it were released in theaters, I still would have recommended it. The jokes are as funny as ever and the writing is fantastic for something that was released direct-to-video.

Feels like a good, season 2 esque episode of Futurama, but not a fantastic season 3 esque episode.

I am a BIG fan of Futurama and any fan of Futurama would like a Futurama movie, its just a very long episode.

Overall it's a great story, has the same feel and comedy of the tv series. The only drawback was the not so high quality of the songs.

It's OK, but the new graphics and voice acting are annoying, though I'll admit it's much less annoying than in new Simpsons. There is some humour that hits me, but that's about it. Oh, and the final part wasn't that cool.

Futurama evaded cancellation and returned with a series of direct-to-DVD movies. This first one involves the Planet Express Crew getting suckered by a cabal of intergalactic e-mail scammers. A formula for time travel is eventually uncovered and the ramifications threaten to destroy the space/time continuum. The gang's attempt to stop the scammers from abusing time travel is laced with many nods to old episodes of the Futurama TV show. I greatly enjoyed Bender's Big Score since I was already a fan of the program, but neophytes may be better served with catching a few reruns before they delve into this film.

The first movie isn't nearly as engaging, clever, or as funny as the original series, but it still manages to be entertaining. Perhaps my biggest problem was looking at three naked aliens for a full 90 minutes.

This starts out really funny, but goes dry sooner than I would have liked. It does get a bit better, but overall it doesn't live up to the series in the comedy department. That isn't to say that it is a total failure though, there was lots of clever writing, the animation looked amazing, and it gave a good stab at bringing heart to the characters. If you like the show, this is worth watching, but don't expect the best it has to offer.

Leela: [Bender returns from time travel and steals... ] The Mona Lisa!
Bender: Sorry, it's not quite finished.
Shlump: Da Vinci give you any trouble?
Bender: Let's just say he might not make it to "The Last Supper".
