Gamebox 1.0 is one of those movies I had to see, simply to find out what it was all about. The story seemed like such a unique concept that i was sure it would be something exciting. I was pretty dissapointed thou, being that it was direct to video and probably had a small budget, the special effects were pretty lame. The backround story was actually pretty good. However, it was buried under cheezy special effects and performed by Sabrina and Boy Meets World outcasts, that are all grown up, so it was hard to tell. After thinking about it a little, I could see where they were going. Overall, it was ok, pretty much just a direct to video version of a failed movie with a similar story line, Stay Alive. Pass on this one!
This was decent. Not the best graphics in the world but it went along with the look of it. Reminded me of Tron mixed in with some Stay Alive with parts of Brainscan.
The concept of this movie is somewhat interesting, and it is the overall story that gives this movie any value at all. Even though a large majority of the story is pretty lame and predictable, I was still able to get caught up in it and want to see how the plot played out, it is the only thing that kept me from turning this completely off. The graphics are just horrible and at times make it difficult to watch. The acting is pretty bad throughout, aside from Nate Richert who was decent as he made his depressing character very likeable and genuine, he seemed to really take the role seriously.
