Gene Autry has just been elected as the mayor of a California boomtown named Quartz City, and he's determined to impose the law on this ungoverned and turbulent community. His first order of business is to get rid of the gambling den run by the nefarious Tod Rawlings (Larry Lauter), and his hostess Bee Laverne (Christine Larson). He then imports a trainful of women to help domesticate the town, and Rawlings attempts to steal the train and its cargo to sell them to some love-starved miners. Gene and his trusty #1 deputy manage to foil his plans, however, and the persistent Rawlings mounts a last-ditch effort to take over the town. This classic Autry fare also stars Gail Davis as one of the new arrivals who falls for the wrong man, and of course, Champion, the world's wonder horse. [More]
