Summary

The international trailer for this summer's Get Smart has hit the Web, and because there's nothing better than starting off your Friday with some slinky Anne Hathaway and a shoe phone, we're posting it here! Back to Article

Hopefully the movie is better than what I saw in the trailer. Feels kinda generic and unfunny. Well, I smiled a couple of times during the trailer, but laugh, um, no. Why can't we have a movie that doesn't suck?

Hopefully this will be good like Dan in Real Life and 40 Year Old Virgin.
Not like Evan Almighty which was a major crapfest.

I don't know if anybody can take up Don Adam's mantle, but if there is, it's got to be Steve Carell.

I actually thought the trailer was good. I would probably catch this once it comes out on DVD.

Yeah... not too sure about it. Probably because I grew up watching re-runs on TVLand. We'll see.

I had so much hope for Steve Carell, but he's made some bad choices. I had hoped this would work but this trailer doesn't make me all that excited. Mostly lame humor.

Wasn't the early word on this that they pretty much stole half the script to "Johnny English"? This so far is just showing me that you can't divorce an intellectual property from its creators and expect people to follow blindly, especially if you don't know what you're doing.

Mel Brooks was, is, and will forever be a comic god. If you're reading this, Mr. Brooks, come back to us. We miss you.

This is Steve's last shot to prove he can carry a movie. If it fails like everything else he has done post-Virgin, then he should stick to The Office and background characters for Will Ferrell.

The series was from 1965-1970, not 1969. Just thought I would clarify that.

Dug the old show. And the movie looks good, certainly looks funnier than most of the "spoof" nonsense Hollywood keeps churning out. Will probably check it out. In the theater? Perhaps, if a girl drags me there. Otherwise, hello dvd.

Well said, Matanuki. Lets hope our girlfriends all love Steve Carell, or else we'll see it on do-vo-do or h-do-do-vo-do. But don't forget blu-ro-vo-do.

lol. Indeed, Duckling. But screw that blue ray crap! If there ever existed a gratuitous irrelevancy then it most certainly is that, my friend. I know a dude that kept trying to promote that @#$! to me, talkin' 'bout "can't you see, man, all the great 'quality'," like he was a rejected retard who tried out for the "It's a time machine" part in "The Pursuit Of Happiness". lol. Count me as not even remotely convinced.

On a side note though, the chicks seem to love Carell. Maybe it's because he plays an impressionable idiot so well. Hmm...

I loved the original and still find reasons to quote it at least monthly. I think the casting of Carrell is inspired. For these reasons and a handful more I'll probably go see this in theaters.

That said I don't really care for the mopey parts of the trailer. The fun of Maxwell Smart was he was so oblivious to his own incompetence.
