Saw Get Smart and The Love Guru. Get Smart was great. It was funny and had plenty of action. The Love Guru was just bad. Easily Mike Myer's worst movie.

I wish the Hulk wouldn't have dropped so much because I really enjoyed that one. But aslong as they have the Hulk in The Avengers then I'll be happy. Also glad to see Kung Fu Panda is still doing good and that The Happening dropped 67% because that was terrible.

Sorry to see The Incredible Hulk slip by so much...I'm surprised by it, even with the releases of Get Smart(fun & enjoyable) and Love Guru(could care less).

Glad to see The Happening drop like a stone though...it was a snoozefest, with a silly story.

RIP Love Guru. Or not.

Sad about the "Hulk" not doing great in it's second week. However, couldn't be happier that the Love Guru stunk it up; proof that the general public isn't COMPLETELY braindead anyway.

Now "Disaster Movie" needs to bomb so the American public may be forgiven for seeing "Meet The Spartans", "Prom Night", "Fool's Gold", "Sex And The City", "What Happens In Vegas", etc.

I've been betting that Wall-E grosses over 300 million domestic, but I'm confused as to why there aren't reviews of it posted yet.

I think consensus on Wall-E's box office is 180-200 million.

I have a bad feeling Wall-E is going to tank. We're talking $35mil opening tank. Kung Fu Panda is a juggernaut that isn't going to slow down...kids dig bright colorful characters with celebrity voices, not grey robots that speak in beeps and bloops. I mean, I'll definately be seeing it, but my daughter has shown no interest in Wall-E...it's all about "Po Kung Fu Panda".

Wanted will get $20mil and like it. It'll be like all other over-stylized action flicks and just be a temporary blip in the audience's eyes, just like Transporter, Jumper, Shoot 'Em Up, etc. Although these flicks were all lacking Angelina...

next week Wall-E for the win!!!

Its a no brainer, rated G pixar animation for kids on summer Vaca or rated R movie with no major male lead actor name attached to it. Yes I know whos in it, I'm talking about the mass audience and BO numbers.

1) Wall-E $60 mil
2) Wanted $35 Mil
3) Get Smart
4) Kung fu panda
5) Hulk

I am more than thrilled that The Love Guru TANKED...Joy! joy! joy!. If I didn't have summer school tomorrow, I would have gone out and celebrated.

I love Mike Myers but he needs to come up with something fresh and new. His oldy, recycled, tired and cliche jokes are getting on my nerves. As for Jessica ALba * shakes head*, can someone tell why me why that girl keeps starring in all these movies? she's had flop after flop after flop after flop. Call it the "Alba" curse and The Love Guru definitely succumbed to the "Alba" curse. She's a bad actress anyway so I really wouldn't call it a curse. Is America finally smart enough to ditch bad acting? hmmm

As for Justin Timberlake *shakes head even more violently*, he needs to stick to singing pop songs on a stage and copying moves from Michael Jackson and Usher. I hope this flop teaches you to stick to what you do best.

AMEN!!!!

Man, I didn't expect Hulk to drop so much. I expected a better word of mouth similar to Iron Man, because it was pretty darn good! I still don't see what is so appealing about Wall*E that has adults freaking out over, even more so than kids. I also don't understand all of the Dreamworks hate. It really reminds me of the format wars or the next-gen console wars (really pathetic). If Wall*E is really as amazing as everyone is hyping it to be, then I hope it does well, but if it is as dull and boring as it looks to me, I hope it bombs. Wanted looks pretty freakin' awesome, but has no chance in beating out Wall*E.

@wordweaver12
I can understand the hate towards The Love Guru, but I feel that Justin Timberlake has some acting capabilities. I thought he did a good job in Alpha Dog, BSM, and not to mention his amazingness in Southland Tales (truly underrated). Though I didn't see Love Guru, so I cannot comment on him in it.

I saw Get Smart on Friday and loved every minute of it. For once a good tribute to the original and a possible franchise for the cast.
As for Wall-E, it will trounce Kung fu Panda eventually, but there is plenty of room for two family films. I mean, jeese, how many times can kids drag their parents to the same film. They can share the summer fare.

1) Glad that Live Guru bombed. There just might be a god out there.

2) Glad that The Happening dropped 67%. Horrendous and rancid word of mouth at it's finest as dumb idiots tricked into watching it tell every soul they can not to go near it.

3) WTF?!? Incredible Hulk dropped by 61%?!? That's almost as bad as Ang Lee's Hulk. What is it about the big green guy and the general public that leads to massive 2nd weekend drops?!? Is it because it's a bit too repetitive? Banner gets angry or excited, hulks out, smashes things and then stumbles around half naked like a sex crime victim. At this point, it's making less than Lee's Hulk and both Fantastic 4s. That's just bad. It'll be lucky if it reaches the $150 million mark now.

Get Smart was good family, entertaining fun. Not belly-buster laughs, but keeps your attention.

Kung Fu Panda was really good too.

Can't wait for Wall-E (animation looks amazing) and, of course, the Dark Knight. That theme at the end of the trailer just blows you away! Still need to see the Hulk.

oh MY god...can it be, the public actually has TASTE?!?!?! Hulk couldn't hold it...Panda beats it(and rightfully so, its a better movie) and Guru tanks??? i can't believe it...

by the way, Inc Hulk was the exact same(same flaws, minus a better villian) so its no surprise it probably won't outdo the older version.

since everybody's mentioning wall E...can we tune into Maury Povich and bring Short Circuit's Johnny 5 on the show for a DNA test? cuz lets face it, Wall E is no doubt ripped from Short Circuit. i actually thought it was a reboot/remake/redo/sequel/prequel whatever when i first saw the trailer awhile ago

How about we leave the Hulk character alone after this movie? It's obvious no matter how you make a movie about him that the public just won't shell out to see it like they will for Iron Man or Spider-Man. We have two decent variants on the same story now, and that's probably where it should stop, lest the studios risk an even bigger bomb critically and commercially.

DreamWorks is light, passable entertainment. They're actually on an upward streak with Over the Hedge, followed by Surf's Up, followed by Kung Fu Panda. Not a single rotten so far, I think. But Pixar is still the obvious superior here. If Wall-E doesn't thrash Kung Fu Panda and post a huge opening, I'll be saddened. It might happen, though; Pixar has an Adam Sandler quality to it in that people will see it solely for the reason that it's Pixar and they've enjoyed past Pixar movies.

anyone who doesn't think that 'wall-e' is going to be a huge hit and easily win the box office this week is straight trippin. this is what everyone said last year about 'ratatouille' ("ok, first, kids can't even pronounce it, and there's no way they're gonna go for a rat that cooks food. it's too gross!" WRONG.)

'wall-e' is gonna be in the mid 90's for tomato-meter, probly even higher with Cream of the Crop, and it will make $300 mill domestically and run through the end of the summer. i mean, duh. pixar pisses excellence, poops perfection and cleans house at the box office, so i really don't see why anyone would bother frontin on them.

'wanted' will also do well and for the first time in a WHILE there will actually be two good releases on the same weekend. is a sneaky pay-once double feature in order? methinks yes. macavoy's a gine, but the action's gonna be sick and jolie's still a dish.

oh and the WAY-south-of-incredible Hulk? why are people the least bit surprised? Hulk is a lame character that should never have been rebooted. there, i said it. now the numbers are speaking to that.

'the happening', well, isn't. shamapalon needs to do some serious soul-searching, realize that he's devolved into an ego-maniacal hack and figure out exactly where he went wrong (let's start at comparing yourself to spielberg and work from there).

'the love guru' is completely pathetic and i don't think we'll be seeing mike myers stepping out from being the voice-over microphone for a while. just do straight-to-dvd 'shrek' movies for the next decade and roll around in a pile of money like you did in '54.' then come back and do more movies like '54.'

so, since there's only been ONE good big release all summer, 'iron man,' (maybe two if you dug 'panda') i'd say that the REAL summer movie season begins this week. bout time.

I wish Wanted opened earlier. It's definately going to lose box office to the parents that see Wall-E, and then the following week to Hancock. . .

It would have been great if it opened the same week as "Sex and the City-Wok."

Here we go again talking about how much a movie makes as if its related to how good it is... everybody just calm down about 'drop offs' and 'final takes'. If you like a film its better if it doesn't set the box office alight, otherwise you'll just be watching sequel no.4 in seven years time weeping into your cola...

My family and I watched the first Hulk movie on cable this weekend. I had really forgotten just how terrible it was. The difference between the new and the old is night and day. I look forward to buying it on DVD for my kids. It really was entertaining, so like a few others have said, I'm really surprised about the drop. The hulk just isn't as "kid friendly" as the other heros. My six-year-old kept covering his eyes, so that might explain it somewhat.

i grew up with the orginal and went in thinking this would most likely be pretty bad, but like others have said, it was fresh, funney, not a clone but retained the heart of the orginal. well paced and best of all well cast!! this film is a good tribute to the original and a franchise for the cast.
at the end i really wanted to see more of max and 99.
cant say that for most films.

I sorta agree with 'weaver about Jolie (though girl's gotta work, I suppose)and more to the point, this movie looks like a particularly overwrought pillaging of a graphic novel. I just read 'Wanted' last week. ***NON SPOILER** Did anyone else know that the main characters are originally supposed to be murderous Supervillains--who ultimately are simply LESS evil than the REAL bad-guys?! I didn't. 'makes me nervous, anytime Hollywood gets its mits on material and drastically Disney'fies it.

Wall-E will do fine. Adults know the Pixar name and will drag the kids to Wall-E anyway. My kids and I had no interest in Ratatoulie (sp) but loved it all the same. If Pixar can make a rat that can cook a must see movie, I wonder if they can make a movie about robots...OF COURSE THEY CAN! The trailer looks a little cutsie, but I guarantee it will have a great story and real emotional resonance. Wanted looked idiotic in the trailers, but critics are giving it high marks. I didn't realize it was by the same crazy Russkie who made Daywatch/Nightwatch. That guy has a real visual flair so it may be worth a look for the eye candy alone.
