This "review" is pathetic. It's mostly a plot synopsis. Here are his only "criticisms", if you can them criticisms.
"Ghostbusters is only intermittently impressive." Doesn't explain why.
"Director Ivan Reitman makes a fundamental error: featuring a set of top comics but having them often work alone." There are PLENTY MORE scenes in the film with all the ghostbusters comically interacting with each other than when they're by themselves.
They don't make comedies like this anymore.
This film was a work of comedic genius.
It had situation comedy, slapstick comedy, potty humor, dry humor, sophmoric humor, insult humor, smart laughs, "so fucked up, it's funny" laughs, as well as stereotyping, role reversal, and absurdity laughs.
Maybe the greatest comedy film ever made.
Ray spouting out the legal jargon for Gozer, the *Candy Bar* scene (not to be confused with the Twinkie scene) = Comedy Gold.
