Common Playing G.I. Joe's Road Block?
Rapper doesn't get a lot of sleep, apparently.

He may still be waiting for his chance to protect the galaxy from evil as Green Lantern, but even if Justice League of America languishes in development hell indefinitely, Common has other super comics-related options on the table.

The acting rapper (or is that rapping actor?) tells MTV Movies that he's been offered the role of Road Block in Stephen Sommers' live-action G.I. Joe adaptation, but "nothing has been solidified yet." In the meantime, Common -- and everyone else still connected with JLA -- waits "while studio executives decide when to start production."

Before either of those projects happen, filmgoers will see Common alongside Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker in Street Kings:

"I play this gangster. He also has another side to him. The whole film, they're searching for me and my partner because they know we committed this crime that was really bad. So basically, I play this dark gangster man. It's a good little twist to the character and to the film. It's good to be part of the movie with Forest Whitaker and Keanu Reeves. It's a pleasure to work with them in a drama that's fresh. Game is also in the film. I didn't get to do any scenes with him. I know he had to be excited to be a part of the movie too, 'cause I was excited. It's a couple of scenes he does, as well as myself. I don't have a lot of scenes, but in the [theatrical] trailer, it looks like I'm the co-star with Forest and Keanu."

Common's also got a role in another comic adaptation, this summer's Angelina Jolie/Morgan Freeman/James McAvoy-led Wanted, which bows June 27 -- and he isn't giving up his day job, either; he tells MTV that he also plans on releasing an EP titled Invincible Summer in June.

He's not buff or hard enough for my favorite character of the Joe team. I loved his action figure because his biceps were so much bigger than the other Joes.
