Movie Info

Polish-born artist and filmmaker Lech Majewski strings together thirty-three video-art pieces originally displayed as a gallery installation for this dialogue-free patchwork feature pondering lingering childhood traumas and religious iconography. As a disturbed mental patient (Patryk Czajka) fends off memories of his brutal father (Grzegorz Przybyl) and inert mother (Joanna Litwin), his religious family history begins to play an increasingly prominent role in his vivid visions of the past.

The pungent layers of narrative that make up Glass Lips may cross and collide -- and occasionally confuse -- but the intelligence behind them is clear.
