God delivers an ultimatum: if one person can prove that humans aren't a total bust, he'll let them live, and he deigns to let the devil choose the representative. He singles out Bob Alman, a lazy slacker autoworker with a bad attitude, who is cowed into agreeing to his new role as savior. Never was a more unlikely character charged with the task of bettering the world and its inhabitants. Over the course of the show's 13 episodes, Bob's kids deal with the challenges--and hilarity--of having the Chosen One for a father, God forgets the Devil's birthday, and poor Bob, among other things, is locked up in a mental institution, leaving the Devil free to hit on his wife.
