Movie Info

Bob Hope stars in this "educational musical comedy," which marks his first film appearance. Hope is traveling through South America with his fiancée and her mother. They arrive in the town of Los Poachos Eggos, where the citizens are celebrating a curious holiday called Don't Do It Day. According to custom, if one sings a little tune after insulting or assaulting someone, they must be instantly forgiven. When Hope learns this, he takes full advantage, picking the Mayor of the city (Jules Epailly) to bear the brunt of his wisecracks and destructive pranks. His Excellency is steamed, but has to keep his cool until the bells toll the end of Don't Do It Day. Meanwhile, Hope's fiancée has been wooed away by a rogue who has lied about his wealth, leaving the path open for romance and music with a lovely young señorita (Leah Ray). The Mayor is also in love with the girl, though, so Hope has to get out of town before the holiday ends and his luck runs out.more

A very funny short film with Hope, I really enjoyed it, even though it's not that great.
