Critic Review - New York Times

... what they give us in Goldfinger is an excess of-science-fiction fun, a mess of mechanical melodrama and a minimum of bedroom farce.

At least he gave From Russia with Love a postive review. Goldfinger is just too campy.

This review should be amended, and changed to "fresh". The NY Times included "Goldfinger" on their list of the 1000 greatest movies.

Here's the list:

What does that list have to do with (the late) Crowther's review?

too much plot not enough mindless sex, how terrible. For an experienced movie critic like yourself that must be terrible.

I guarentee you this guy just doesn't want movies to get 100% tomatometer. Him and another idiot don't know what good movies are. Minimum bedroom farce and too much melodrama? You mean not enough sex scenes, and too much story development. Moonraker is Sci Fi. This is a masterpiece.
