However, the mine's foreman, Rod Slater (Roger Moore), has no intention of standing by and letting him do that. Along with his assistant, Slater tries to figure out a way of saving the mine, its wealth, and the thousands who work there, in this vintage 1970s film that also features Susannah York, Ray Milland, and John Gielgud. Jeffrey Lynn stars in HOME TOWN STORY (1951) as a recently defeated state legislature candidate, who takes a job at a newspaper in order to fight powerful and corrupt companies who sabotaged his campaign.
