RT on DVD: The Brothers Affleck Lead the Pack With Gone Baby Gone

Summary

One of the best films of last year comes to DVD this week (Gone Baby Gone, written and directed by Ben Affleck, starring brother Casey Affleck), but there are tons more to pick from -- a NASA documentary, praised by critics (In the Shadow of the Moon), a crime thriller about cops and family (We Own the Night), and (sigh) a new Tyler Perry movie (Why Did I Get Married?). Hey whats with all these Boston crime drama movies (Mystic River, GBG, Departed). What!? New York isn't good enough anymore! I guess Boston needs to make up for that Pats! How about a movie where Tom Brady gets abducted...oh wait that already happened in the Superbowl! I'm still renting it though.

Both Mystic River and Gone Baby Gone are Dennis Lehane novels, which is why it's been all about Boston. I like that he and Affleck stick with their hometown in writing and filmmaking. Regional pride, or doing what you know. Few other cities and communities have had that type of representation on screen.

im game for the Cobain flick...not sure 'bout it since it says there's no photos or whatever on him though. you'd think it'd be more effective to post his sad mug on the screen as much as possible, his face always wreaked of sadness and despair

is it just me or does Tyler Perry have a dvd release every single week? everytime i go to blockbuster there's a new release with his name tagged to it.

Ro and Cigs looks decent(cept for the long wait, not always a good sign) with that cast.
