Ben Lewis' cautionary documentary about Google's efforts to digitize all the world's books is well-intended but poorly focused.
Google and the World Brain dives into the contemporary issue of online privacy, copyright, and freedom of information.
Ironically, the crew seems to have done most of its research via Google, relying on those who have complained loudest in print, in court or online for comment.
A doc that, though it might not be quite what viewers are expecting, feels like a useful step forward in a conversation most of us don't realize we should be having.
