Oh my god, it's finally happened: Women have rights, what a ****ing shame. I will beat my wife twice as hard tonight in honor of you, you ignorant cow.

It's you're stupid, not your stupid.

If you are going to insult someone at least try to look intelligent while doing it.

How can you call some one stupid when you can't even get grammer right in a two word sentence?

I hate to stoop to your level, but, the words you used are spelled "grammar" and "someone". Great movie!

I miss those days when being a movie critic meant something. Now we get this kind of "look at me" reviews everywhere, with people trying to make a name for themselves by being "unique".

And yes, it finally happened, someone made Hey you kids get off my lawn" the review. And it stinks.

I just got home from watching this movie, and I have to say this is probably the worst and most unintelligent review I have laid my eyes on in sometime.

This was by far one of Clint Eastwood's finest moments, ever. The audience in attendance spoke volumes of this movie with much laughter and perfectly timed tears.

It makes me wonder if you even watched this movie?

Thank you Ms. Reviewer Lady. Even though I have yet to see this movie, and it very well may be a good movie--this review made me laugh. So, thank you.

For anyone who is deciding whether or not to go see this movie, my suggestion to you before you believe one word from this idiotic review is to first take a look at the picture of the person writing the review. After a long and hard examination of the picture, a few words should come to mind about this person (possibly uptight, unintelligent, looking for attention). After you determine what words came to mind that you believe explain this reviewer, ask yourself if you have the same taste in movies as this kind of person... most likely not.

Well said Jeff. Look at her. Look at Clint Eastwood. Also, one may wish to compare the IQ of Eastwood to her. People like her make me disgusted with my generation.

" I love how Singer plays the whole damn thing like the greatest suspense comic-book story ever told"

Looking at her review of Valkyrie with the quote above and this quote for Gran Torino, I believe I can disregard this particular critic.

I would be willing to bet this lady tells all her family and friends how great she understands films, then she stands back and basks in her own self importance.

Also, any journalist who uses the phrase "O my god" in their work, should not be allowed to write. Im supprised she didnt put;

"Oh....my...god! It's like, finally happened.............

Matanuki .

I consider MaryAnn to be one of the better critics chronicled on this site. Even when I disagree with her point of view, the disses are at least funny. Ditto that for Walter Chaw. What strikes me as woefully puerile and frivolous is how folks catalogue hateful rants on here against a critic when a movie they liked gets a less than favorable review. I mean, come on! lol. I know what it means to deplore a critic's taste, believe me, but the irony in many of these comments is alarming.

Matanuki, is this how you actually talk? Consider the context when you choose your $10 words.

Haha the old hag made a funny.

Bet you're going to brag about it to all your knitting buddies.

Can someone replace this ***** with a real reviewer?

Jan 7 - 06:17 PM

Nick DiOrio

While the review is amusing, it remains intensely naive of real prejudice and the very real ostracism many of America's veterans experience after fighting in war. Clint Eastwood remains one of the best living actors/directors, and ignorant cheap shots will do little more than cement the reviewer's reputation as a ****.

This is really what you took away from the movie??? Well she went with shock value and she's getting her attention. Sometimes it's for the best, in this oversaturated field of movie critics.

"Get Off My Lawn" should have been the title i agree.

But this was a great movie. I've seen it several times and it just keeps getting better.

Another ***** liberal who can't handle the portrayal of a REAL MAN in the movies. Alan Alda, the women's favorite wimp is dead. Get over yourself.

I know MaryAnn's reviews, and she is an incredibly astute movie critic. Sometimes, to my mind, she oversteps against perceived "machismo" too much for my taste, since I'm a guy and revel in it, but when I see idiots assaulting her based on what they think she looks like from a photo (I've seen her in person and she's lovely) or start dragging out embalmed metaphors about Alan Alda as a way of knocking her down, I feel like taking a number to suck Alan Alda's **** just to show I'm not part of that crowd of Neandertals. F**k you! And I'll probably still see "Gran Torino" and respect MaryAnn in the morning. Thank you very much. Warren Fahy

You clearly didn't understand this film so I'll explain it using small words, at least when possible.

Walt's lawn is his island- the world around him is changing quickly. Did you not notice the film's attempt to show how ethnically and culturally diverse his neighborhood is compared to what it used to be?

He is struggling to keep his home the way it was, before his wife died and control of his life seemingly slipped out of his control. He's confronting not only his own mortality, but the death of his idea of what it means to be an American.

So if you want to ignore those powerful sentiments in order to score a few troll points on the internet, please go ahead. But realize that you are only demonstrating your artistic shallowness and lack of comprehension.

In other words, you fail.

Oh, and of course you give Marley and Me a positive review while doing verbal and mental gymnastics to criticize this one. I guess that film had all the nuance and meaning this one lacked.
