Crossing Over -- 11%

Speaking of old men, Crossing Over stars Harrison Ford in Wayne Kramer's mishmash of a melodramatic tale about people from all walks of life (illegally) seeking the American Dream. As a Los Angeles immigration agent, Ford stumbles across -- or, as always in this type of familiar LA tale, crashes into -- one illegal immigrant after another, from a desperate deported mother (Alice Braga) to a British musician (Across the Universe's Jim Sturgess) and his Australian girlfriend (Alice Eve) who herself is sleeping with an ICE officer in exchange for legal status (Ray Liotta). Then you've got the Bangladeshi student (Summer Bishil), the Korean kid (Twilight's Justin Chon), an irate Iranian (Cliff Curtis), and Ashley Judd. Critics pummeled the heavy-handed drama, which director Kramer and studio execs notoriously squabbled over; no special features are included in the disc.

"Crossing Over" is nothing to celebrate.

"Gran Torino" I'll see, but I know some people who hate it...some.

Nothing else worth mentioning, exxept "Noble Son" was disapointing

The Shield S7 puts any movie on that list to shame. I will buy Gran Torino though, Eastwood make's one funny racist.

Gonna buy Gran Torino and The International (Naomi Watts.... enough said) tomorrow. Can't wait for next week though! LOST season 1 & 2 on blu, Seventh seal on blu, and possibly Friday the 13th. Thats gonna be one hell of an expensive week :O

Everyone I talk to says that Gran Torino was good, so I'll be sure to check that out, as well as The International. That Tara Reid movie has been on my radar for weeks! Gee, I sure hope I can find a copy! :)

I loved both Gran Torino and The International, so I'll be getting those.

I also have had Nobel Son at my Blockbuster for a few months. The same thing happened with JCVD. I guess Blockbuster just likes to get some of these smaller name movies earlier than everyone else. As for Nobel Son itself, it was not as good as I hoped, but is still reasonably fun and worth a watch.

Also, it's too bad to hear that Crossing Over is so bad. I was originally interested by the talented cast, but then it was delayed so much and got such terrible reviews...I might still give it a shot though.

Gran Torino wasn't as good as everybody made it out to be....I found it a bit slow and some of the acting was so bad that I wasn't sure if I was watching out takes or not....but Clint will always be Clint in my books....I just wish (even at his tender age) that he'd make one more *** kicking gun slugging movie, cos he still looks damn cool and mean and looks like he could wipe the floor with any of today's so called action stars.

Gran Torino and The International were pretty good. Nobel Son really has been out everywhere for months not just at gay blockbuster. Fired Up and Crossing Over were ok, while Spinning Into Butter was just horrible and is sure to be in my 5 worst of the year.

Yjeizz: Hey, did you see the season finale of Reaper?! What a bad place to end it! I hope it gets picked up by someone else too since CW has no idea how to market anything that's not for preteen girls, but I doubt it since Tyler Labine is now working on another show for another dead end channel: Fox.

whitey_mcwhite: Yea, I saw it. It was a great episode, but I do agree with you on the crappy ending. I figured if the creators knew they were getting canceled they could have at least given it some closure. But yea, I do really hope it gets picked up by another network. Comedy Central or SciFi? Anything but Fox. If they show does get picked up by another network, if Tyler Labine isn't in it I'm pretty sure Reaper will start to lose it's fanbase along with it's comedy.

Damn shame.
