H nonetheless has enough bright spots and well-done moments (though not for the squeamish) that it merits a cautious recommendation.

It begins with the grisly discovery of a murdered pregnant girl, a crime that Detective Kim and Kang recognize as having the same MO as Shin Hynn. The problem, of course, is that Shin rots in a prison awaiting execution, and the murder appears to be the work of a copycat. As the killings continue, Kim and Kang realize that Shin may know more about these crimes than he lets on, and come to the chilling realization that it may not be just one copycat they've been trailing. Reviews for H
With H, we get the thrills and the twists, yes, but we also get the down time, a space where cliché and human nature collide.
Suffers from cheesy production values, the clumsy manner of the storytelling, ill-conceived characters and crude acting.
H sets up its enigmatic premise with a gruesome style and intensity, and finally ties up the mystery with ... well, nothing a little suspension of disbelief can't fix.
New to DVD from Tartan Video (real champs of bringing Asian horror to U.S. shores), this one will likely appeal to fans of Se7en and The Silence of the Lambs.
