A Return to "Halloween" for Danielle Harris
Over the past few weeks, Rob Zombie has announced a whole bunch of cast members from his upcoming "Halloween" remake, and here's (maybe) the weirdest one: Danielle Harris, who (as a kid) appeared in two successive Myers sequels, will be popping up in Zombie's "Halloween."
According to JoBlo (and Bloody-Disgusting & Zombie's own MySpace page), Ms. Harris will be playing hottie babyistter Annie Brackett (a character played by Nancy Loomis in the original film), and get this: The casting report indicated that "nudity" was involved. Good thing Ms. Harris ("Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers" & "Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers") grew up into quite the little cutie.
In addition to Ms. Harris, Zombie's "Hallowen" re-do will also star Malcolm McDowell, Tyler Mane, Dee Wallace-Stone, Danny Trejo, Ken Foree, William Forsythe, and Sheri Moon Zombie. The release date of August 31st seems a little weird at first ... until you realize that the DVD will then be able to pop up by late October.
Far as I can tell, the lead character of Laurie Strode (as previously played by Jamie Lee Curtis) has not been cast yet. Or it probably has, but Zombie's holding that one for a special announcement.

on Jan 11 2007 06:11 AM Wow, his wife will appear in his new film, what are the odds? I wonder why she doesn't appear in films not made by him, lack of talent maybe? (Reply to this) |

on Jan 11 2007 06:16 AM That's funny since she's a favorite with fans of House and Rejects. Could be she doesn't want to do other movies, who knows? Is she ever going to win Best Actress-probably not, is she talentless-not by a long shot. As for Danielle Harris-awesome news! She's a sweetheart and a really talented actress as well. Glad to see her working on something new. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 11 2007 07:44 AM In reply to this comment (#852741) Yea, but ya know how these things always turn out. They tease ya then WHAM! the actress states she has a "no neekidness" clause in her contract or "it was filmed" but won't be used excuse. Don't forget the "body-double" playing card either. We'll have to wait to see what actually makes it to the scream...I mean screen... (Reply to this) |

on Jan 11 2007 09:19 AM Wow! Ole Rob's really going out on a limb with the cast here. It really seems like he's trying do bring some class back to this franchise instead of just using it as an excuse to make another one of his timeless and classic pictures. Is the sarcasm apparent enough there? Will somebody PLEASE give Ken Foree a real job to do. The guy is awesome. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 11 2007 11:29 AM omg Danielle Harris, jus looked her up, thats that little mouthy bitch from the Last Boy Scout! And she was in City Slickers for 1 line of dialogue too... "Are you a disc jockey??" (Reply to this) |

on Jan 11 2007 04:06 PM Kickass. Can't begin to imagine who could play Laurie, though. Hope it's not a CW chick. Any thoughts? (Reply to this) |

on Jan 11 2007 09:39 PM In reply to this comment (#852739) You must have missed her performance in that classic comedy "Little Man". Rather than torture yourself watching that horror show again, just take my word for it and look at the Bugs Bunny cartoon instead. Pretty bad when you have to rip off a 'wabbit'. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 12 2007 11:45 AM Potential For Greatness Is There The casting for this film so far is great and i truly look forward to one of my favorite actors....Malcolm Mcdowell's take on Dr. Loomis. William Forsythe is also one hell of an actor as is Ken Foree. Sheri Moon is a WELCOME addition as well. Dee Wallace, Danny Trejo, and Danielle Harris round out an excellent exploitation film cast and i truly believe this film will be very good and i saw the original at the theatre back in 78 and am a big fan of John Carpenter in general. When i read that a remake of Halloween was being planned i said please not again because the Fog remake simply sucked however when i saw Rob was doing it i knew it had a chance for horror greatness so please let's not put a film down before it has been seen. As for the little joke about it being on dvd in late October...somehow i doubt that will happen...lol as it will still be playing i'm sure. This film has the opportunity to be Rob's highest grosser and i hope it is because we as a horror community need someone like ourselves such as Rob who has a passion and respect for the genre he grew up loving as we all did to direct these films.
