Laurie Strode, the teenager last terrorized by Myers, is taken to a nearby hospital to recover from her traumatic ordeal. But Myers isn't through with her yet, and the fright-night monster works his way through the sleepy town, leaving a river of blood in his wake. Determined to get his revenge on Laurie, he eventually descends upon the hospital -- and the dark secret that binds the two of them is finally revealed. [More]

Does the worst thing any sequel can ever do: it retroactively taints the original and makes it less interesting.

While it’s nowhere near the classic that the original is, this sequel deserves credit for trying to stay on track with its predecessor and succeeding most of the way.

Rick Rosenthal, who directed this 1981 sequel, doesn't have Carpenter's expansive, affectionate way with stereotypical characters, and without it they're empty shells -- bodies waiting for the slaughter.

It's a little sad to witness a fall from greatness, and that's what we get in Halloween II.

A more than solid if admittedly inferior continuation.

It's a little cheap to have a sequel that merely completes the story you SHOULD have told in Part 1, but as sequels go, this one's not bad.

The film is best if watched back-to-back with the first.

Absolutely awful, with no trace of the original's terror.

This kill-happy sequel is a lot bloodier than needed, but it's still pretty frightening nevertheless.

A senseless remake; a series that should have stopped after the first movie.

Had Halloween 2 not been a sequel to one of the greatest genre films of all time, it would be regarded as little more than another bad slasher film from an era full of bad slasher films -- a fate that it richly deserves.
