Jason Isaacs Prepares for "Potter 5" Shoot

Love 'em or hate 'em, there's little denying that the "Harry Potter" movies know how to attract very talented (and almost always British) actors. One such performer would be Mr. Jason Isaacs, the ever-cool character actor who played Lucius Malfoy in "Goblet of Fire" and "Chamber of Secrets." Oh yeah, and he'll be back for "Order of the Phoenix," too!

From the L.A. Daily News by way of ComingSoon.net: "They started in February, but they go until the end of the year because they broke for some of the young actors to take their summer exams," explains Isaacs, who had to postpone his part in order to complete a British TV series.

"My bit is in September and October. It's a big blue-screen battle for a lot of it so that will be a laugh," he says. He adds, "We always have to sign these incredible confidentiality clauses where we offer up our children's eyeballs if we ever break them. I've never quite understood since they're the most popular books on the planet, but anyway, I think I'm involved in the big battle."

question: why do people flock to movies that they already know the endings to?

I believe this has the ability to be the best movie yet. It all depends. I'm not familiar with David Yates. I don't know his directing style. Hopefully it's better than the fourth. The fourth left out several parts that should not have been left out. You have to leave out the parts that don't matter. That people don't care to see. Rather than parts that connect the story.

Anyway, this was my favorite book. So hopefully it will be grand.

And as for you, honeycomb. You are retarded if you cannot answer that question yourself, buddy.

Why do we flock to these book-movies?
Well, that's an easy question. If you've read and fallen in love with a book, why wouldn't you want to see it brought to life with a huge budget, awesome special effects and world-renowned actors on the big screen?

What I find confusing, though, is why they'd make the actors sign confidentiality agreements because, like he said, we already know all the plot points.

I believe the confidentiality agreements are in place not to protect against knowledge of major plot points because obviously they are already widely accessible. I think they do it to protect the changes that are made - the direction of the extended action sequences and other added tidbits. I think its also to keep fans from going too bonkers because their favorite part was removed, prior to seeing how it works on the big screen.

I don't blame the film makers for not wanting to invoke the wrath of angry potter fans. They are a force to reckoned with!

also...
confidentiality is needed for all the people who have not read the books...and alot of people go see these movies who havent read them(thats another reason they make these movies honeycomb, they dont all know the ending)

People?
If you represent people, could you represent us in more important matters than the style of direction in a movie?

Anyway, now that I've gotten my token disgruntlement out of the way, I believe (not people :)) that 5 will be easier to condesne into a movie since it's a book that plods (kind of like 6 -- yo, JK, just b/c book 4 was too many hundred pages long doesn't mean you need to up it one each time --> Refer to William and Strunk: Omit Needless Words (chapters, characters, etc.)) -- Since there are so many needless things in 5/6, things should be easily condensable.

Also (sorry, but I get kind of annoyed by hypocrisy, too), you sign off by asking why honeycomb (prefer Fruity Pebbles) can't answer that question him(I'm assuming male)self. Yet, you started your post by discussing how you didn't like Movie 4 --> perhaps that's a partial answer to the question.

Finally, (I don't like omitting needless words, either :)). all the movies have been done fine. They've mirrored their respective books well. People have complained (1&2) or lauded (3) the direction behind the movies, but give me a fucking break -- these books aren't groundbreaking and they aren't mood setting. These are all straightforward books with interesting plots and twists, but little that's novel or visionary (albeit imaginative -- popular due to its common elements combined in an inventive way).

These are popcorn books and the movies should mimic them to the possible extent they can (to further evince my point, look at Lord of The Rings -- these books were shorter than the last Potter books, but a hell of a lot more happened with equal, if not more development). Well, I'm rambling now, but whenever I start seeing complaints about the movie renditions (or how AC's version of HP3 is great) I get riled up b/c the books aren't that brilliant (story wise -- briliant, definitely, in the sense that they tapped into a fairly untapped market with the right mixture of elements).
