130-minutes of unfocused, supernatural-themed sludge.
Buddy, you're fu*ked
Jul 13 - 09:34 AM
Funny, I've often described Boston the same way when I drive thru.
Jul 13 - 09:36 AM
Hey, don't insult the nice people of Boston because of one guys bad review. If I'm correct, they have won more sports championships in the last decade then any other city. That has to count for something.
Jul 13 - 10:19 AM
ThePotterBuster: What percentage of the team members of those teams actually came from the Boston area? I'm sure quite a few of them came from elsewhere. Personally, from my experiences with the people of almost anywhere in New England I'm not a fan of them. I also am not a fan of bashing critics who write bad reviews of movies until I've actually seen them though. Unless it's Armond White...
Jul 13 - 12:11 PM
stfu about Armond White already. It's like a name people throw around to make their cred climb. Everybody uses him but how can you really no what's going on in that guy's head? Some people are genuine outliers.
Jul 19 - 08:59 AM
Don't worry Bigbrother - the Boston Globe - the real newspaper in town - gave it 3 1/2 stars out of 4. The Herald is just kind of like a tabloid to satisfy the few Republicans residing in Mass.
Jul 14 - 09:01 AM
this could quite possibly be the
greatest film ever made..
none of these negative reviews seem justified..
they're just NITPICKING
Jul 13 - 09:37 AM
You haven't seen it.
Jul 13 - 09:41 AM
but i have read the majority of these reviews..
and the negatives that people are pointing out seems small in scale and not that important...mostly just biased opinion
Jul 13 - 09:45 AM
I have a feeling this is just not his kind of movie. AND you really do have to had followed well to get this movie. It is the 8th and final movie, so if you slept through one or two, you may just be confused, which isn't the films fault. I think for those who follow, it will be AMAZING. I feast on the books, but have just been a mild fan of the films, but I'm crazy-excited to see this one!
Jul 13 - 10:05 AM
You're joking, right? Greatest film ever made?
Jul 13 - 10:20 AM
i was being sarcastic...
no such thing...
Including The Dark Knight...
Jul 13 - 10:41 AM
Kudos on you for proving you know shit-all about films and are probably 14 years old. TDK is a good movie, but it's not even in the same fucking universe as Godfather, Goodfellas, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Dr. Strangelove, Metropolis etc.
Jul 13 - 02:00 PM
Citizen Kane. What a movie!
Jul 13 - 08:08 PM
Jul 21 - 09:20 AM
The best film ever made? Are you on crack? This whole series has been a snoozer! It's on a par with the Twilight series. Ugh.
Jul 14 - 01:23 PM
Never. Say. That. Again.
Jul 25 - 08:06 PM
Harry Potter is more than that, it shows you to have imagination it can never be a snoozer, and Twilight could never be as fantastic as HP, in fact you got it all wrong, Twilight is a snoozer, it shows you nothing realistic and nothing fun.

I read the review three times and i still don't know what he is on about.
^To Crimson Ark
I want to start playing the "mentions LOTR drinking game" while reading these reviews.
It's only unfocused to you because you don't have the mental capacities to understand movies that don't follow a uninventive, formulaic plot.
Seems like you hate the supernatural, which is your primary basis for hating the movie, thus your review is meaningless. Why go watch a movie genre you don't like and then criticize it for the hell of it?
Jul 13 - 09:39 AM
meant to say mental capacity*
all he talks about is the dialouge and how HE
doesn't understand what's going on...
I'm saving the ultimate asshole title for you...
Jul 13 - 09:43 AM
Jul 13 - 09:44 AM
Why wouldn't a critic write a review based on what he or she understood about the film? Is there any other way to review something? It seems like you want some objective, quantitative analysis... which is impossible and not at all what movie reviews are about. The moment we type or say a word we're entering a subjective reality. Move along.
Jul 16 - 07:04 PM
This seemed to be mostly a positive review, except for the fact that he didn't like the 3D conversion (which isn't surprising)
Jul 13 - 09:46 AM
Silly review, but just going by the score (C+), I wouldnt technically call it "negative." Yes, the tone of the review is much less positive than others, but it seems to me that Rotten Tomatoes takes some liberties in deciding whether a review is positive or negative. For instance, had Cars 2, or Transformers 3 gotten a C+, would they have not counted it as positive. Mathematically speaking, one could argue that a C+ is close to a 3/4 star review, which is clearly positive. I know it's all ambiguous, but it still annoys me that they may have called it negative simply because it was in a slew of amazingly positive reviews. On another note, can't wait for this movie!
Jul 13 - 09:48 AM
Cars 2 C+ grades were negative, feel free to take a gander...Critics choose fresh or rotten.
Jul 16 - 10:49 PM
Man you gotta be kidding. I really doubt whether you've watched the rest 7 movies.
Jul 13 - 09:50 AM
Jul 13 - 09:59 AM
"But the film is a dreary slog to its easy-to-guess twist ending/final showdown...". I bet $10000 that he didn't guess it.
Unfocused sludge? Did we even see the same film? Thanks to the splitting of the two parts, this is the most focused of all HP films, not to mention IMO one of the greatest films ever made. Sludge is just insulting.
This guy hates blockbusters, so don't take what he says to heart.
Jul 13 - 10:44 AM
Hey RT users!
So as I am looking at more of the reviews (both positive AND negative) coming in, I am attempting to do a prediction of where this final HP will end up. I thought of it like this:
185/200 = 93% (15 negative reviews)
Does anyone else agree with this? Is it too positive...too negative? Let me know what you think (NOT WHAT YOU WANT) and actually believe this film will end up at. Thanks everybody!
Jul 13 - 10:48 AM
there will be more than 200 reviews...
the last one i think had 240 something..
so there's no telling what could happen..
a ton of negative reviews could possibly spill out and bump this film to the low 80s...
it's anyone's game..these are EARLY reviews
Jul 13 - 11:25 AM
I'm getting really hopeful here, but I'm going with 239/252... 95%. Really wishful thinking though, but plausible considering I'm yet to see a legitimate rotten review.
Jul 13 - 11:45 PM
speedracer37 / Crimson Ark / Garet C. = homo 3some
Jul 21 - 09:25 AM
James next time make sure you wear the glasses the theater gives you when you see a 3-D movie. Derrrrrrrrrrp*
