people should be ashamed for liking... A Clockwork Orange, The Road, No Country for Old Men, American Psycho, Trainspotting, and the list goes on of movies from books? Fucking Retard.

And how is a rehash of a 80's TV series into a movie any more original than an adaption of a book?

Least Harry Potter is a good adaption, and not butchering something from peoples childhood (Transformers)

Transformers was based off a popular T.V. show. Almost everything, nowadays, is adapted from a source material or inspired by true events. The series has translated the world of Harry Potter to film, crafting artistic installations that are impressive feats, in terms of film-making, cinematography, swift storytelling, visual effects, and success that is separate from the novels they portrayed. The books were fantastic, but so are many that try to make the leap to screen, and fail to achieve the success of these films. Brava, to the Harry Potter films, and the talented people who made the phenomena such a delight see fulfilled!

You say that this is theft - yet the author of the books is credited as producer on the film. Watch the speeches at the end of the premiere in London. She thanks the film-makers and actors. She loves the films, and loved working with them. Obviously she didn't think it was stealing. Also Transformers is not original. Why don't you do your research (seriously Google makes research take about 5 seconds, not that hard) before posting ignorant, embarrassing comments? Just a tip.

Someone is upset that these movies are based on a book series? Unbelievable and completely unfair. Most Harry Potter fans realize that JK Rowling was supportive during the filming process and also that millions around the world are thankful for the books AND the films. Please think before you post such mean comments. Nobody deserves to be called "pathetic" or a "disgusting idiot" for liking a movie based on a book.

It's not on the internet (legally), dvd release expected November or so. There are two cinemas in Blantyre, the apollo and the plaza (according to google maps). I have no idea if they are 3D. This movie is meant to be watched in a theatre in 3D, try and make it if you can. The illegal ripoffs are going to suck
