I don't understand why everybody bitch about David Yates, when he make this into films that can really be taken seriously, this should have happen since book 4, and in exchange for that we get a movie trying waaaay to hard to be funny and in the end is not even that. Movie 1 and 2 were just a copy & paste from book to script. In my opinion, the best ADAPTATION was Alfonso Cuaron's Prisoner of Azkaban, that movie made a big leap from "HOME ALONE with magic" to a young adult movie with funny situations and smart dialogues, not to mention the beautiful/dark layout.

How good and which one is the best will always be a reason for debate but i don't think i stand alone on thinking that this will be seen and enjoyed for generations to come no matter how it turned out.

My list would be:
1. Deathly Hallows Part 2
2. Deathly Hallows Part 1
3. Half-Blood Prince
4. Order of the Phoenix (don't really understand the dislike)
5. Sorcerer's Stone
6. Goblet of Fire
7. Chamber of Secrets
8. Prisoner of Azkaban

Not surprisingly, I think David Yates is the best thing that happened to the series.

Movies best to worst:

1. Deathly Hallows part 2 (8.5/10)
2. Half Blood Prince (8/10)
3. Chamber of Secrets (8/10)
4. Deathly Hallows part 1 (8/10)
5. Sorceror's Stone (7/10)
6. Order of the Phoenix (6/10)
7. Goblet of Fire (5.5/10)
8. Prisoner of Azkaban (4/10)

I'd be hard pressed to rank the books. They were all great.

8. Chamber of Secrets. Not as much fun as the first installment and way too long.

7. Deathly Hallows - part 2. Gorgeous movie, but I don't like saying farewell.

6. Sorcerer's Stone. A lovely beginning, still exciting knowing what lies ahead.

5. Goblet of Fire. The scene where Harry fights the dragon just goes on and on, but other then that it's a wonderful coming-of-age movie. The most impressionistic movie of the series.

4. Half-Blood Prince. A good movie, but I really missed Voldemort's history and I thought too much attention was given to Ron's love life. Alan Rickman, however, was perfect, as was Tom Felton. And hello Helena Bonham Carter. The movie was beautifully filmed as well.

3. Deathly Hallows - part 1. Very refined and quiet, yet very sinister. I absolutely loved it.

2. Prisoner of Azkaban. Bring out the werewolves and the full moon. Stunning scenery. Great actors, great storyline.

1. Order of the Phoenix. I really don't understand the hate, I thought it was an outstanding movie. Very dark and ominous. Imelda Staunton was absolutely perfect. The scenes in the Ministry of Magic were brilliant. A fluid film, great use of colour and together with Prisoner of Azkaban the movie containing the greatest storyline.
