As a huge horror fan, I watch everything from a single-lensed shot throughout to FEARnet to Wide releases and pretty much everything in between. The use of an "alternative dimension" was used effectively in the Insidious IMO, but when looking at the credibility of writer/ director tandem in Mac Carter and Andrew Barrer, the sample size is non-existent. I guess we'll have to wait and see; however, my hopes aren't very high.
Prove me wrong!
Side note/Disturbing find: When searching this movie, "Haunt", I noticed that their will be a sequel to "A Haunted House"---A Haunted House 2. KILL ME NOW. It disgusts me how people will go put money into Mr. Wayans' pockets for watching this trash.

same old same old. Horrors in the 21st century suck. Apart from The Ring & a couple of Others things have gone horribly wrong for the horror genre. Snooze-a-normal Activity, Insidious, etc - these are so wildly overrated and short on entertainment (imo). Still, could this one prove me wrong? Lol are you kidding. Highly sceptical that the horror genre has any scares left in it whatsoever.

I didn't even think the Ring was that good, Paranormal Activity was better than that.

Ignoring how scary movies actually are, because I find it hard to find a movie that is truly scary, I disagree that 21st century horror sucks. The Ring, The Others, Trick R Treat, Drag Me To Hell, Cabin in the Woods, and You're Next (which we're all 3 hilarious), Sinister, I liked 1408 and My Bloody Valentine. Insidious wasn't that bad neither was the Conjuring, but I do agree the the Paranormals are a complete joke. Maybe the ones I listed don't necessarily have scares, but are atmospherically creepy enough

I created this thread, but just have a different account now. Horror movies have every single chance to be outstanding, it just depends on who the writer is and if they stay away from your typical cliches. I'm a huge horror fan, I watch all sorts of movies, but not for "jump" scares or to even be scared. I mean, who really gets scared during a movie anyway? It's my favorite genre. To each their own I guess.
