On September 4, 2006, while shooting a documentary off the Great Barrier Reef, famed Australian "crocodile hunter" Steve Irwin met a particularly gruesome and unpleasant end, stung directly through the heart by a venomous stingray. He died instantly. Now, the eighty-six minute home video release Steve Irwin: He Changed Our World pays homage to the life and legacy of the man who redefined contemporary naturalism and brought into the public mindset aspects of the biosphere that viewers otherwise
