Critic Review - Detroit News

"Here Comes the Boom" is so full of clichés from other, better movies that it is almost plays like a parody of an underdog tale.

totally agree. i almost thought the "do it for the kids" hook was dark comedy or should have been. the physical humor was funny. some funny lines too but really felt like a vehicle for a spoiled actor (who i love don't get me wrong) to use his now-clout to get himself into a MMA ring with his idols and salma hayeks eyeline and have us pay to see it.
