Audience Reviews for Hide and Go Shriek
A thoroughly mediocre 80s slasher that takes place almost entirely in a furniture store after hours where a group of young people are hanging out, copulating, etc. Hide and Go Shriek (aka Don't Panic) is a pretty tedious piece of cinema that will only interest slasher fans who have seen everything else.
Hide and Go Shriek is the story of four couples (intermittently mixed with your typical teens in a horror movie) who have just graduated college and are ready to spend the night drinking, screwing, and partying at an upscale furniture shop downtown that one of their dad's owns. Little do they know though, there is a killer inside the store with them as well (who may or may not be the creepy tattooed guy that lives in the furniture story). What follows next is a very surprisingly good and entertaining slasher film. Seriously, I didn't see that coming. The teens are fun and engaging, playing their parts surprisingly well. The story is interesting and somewhat unique, along with the kills, which are actually violent. Hell, the story even surprises you by performing surprise kills and surprise survivors. To make matters better, there's ample amounts of nudity (always nice to have). Overall, I've said it about a million times so far, but this movie surprised me. I would very much like it to finally make its way onto DVD soon. Good movie.
