This feels very stagebound, but was otherwise very amusing and worth tracking down as a Noah Baumbach completist.

While I prefer the man's later work, it's amusing to see the beginnings of his style in this smaller project.

Worth a look.

I liked this movie more than I thought I would. I think I've written that about Noam Baumbach movies before. This is a very simple movie as far as the set goes yet it functions as a pretty decent 3 act play of sorts at a specific couple's residence in New York. They have 3 main get togethers in the film which basically correspond w/ the 3 act structure. Anyway a series of inside jokes, job and relationship changes, and other developments keep things interesting. Recommended for any Baumbach fan though if you have not seen his movies before try starting with The Squid and the Whale and possibly Kicking and Screaming first.
