Movie Info

This far-fetched but fun British comedy centers upon a rather shy artist who has spent the last 20 years living alone on a tiny Pacific island with only his butler for company. His art is very popular, and for his excellent work, he receives word that King Edward VII is planning to knight him. Duty calls and so the artist and his valet reluctantly prepare to return to England. Unfortunately, the butler dies en route. Fortunately, this gives the artist a chance to get back into life without compromising his need for privacy. By the time he arrives in Great Britain, he has assumed the butler's identity. Because he is a commoner, the "butler" isn't allowed to attend the "artist's" funeral. Later he learns that he has been betrothed and must get married. All is well until the butler's wife and three kids suddenly show up demanding an explanation for his mysterious absence all these years.more
