Oooof. Critics love to rave over some fairly dreadful shit.

TAKE SHELTER was the Best American film of 2011, hands down. And, yes, it was ridiculously ignored by the Academy Awards, particularly Michael Shannon's epic performance. With all due respect to Clooney and DuJardin, Shannon should have been at the very least nominated; it's the greatest sin of omission since Anthony Perkins in PSYCHO, seriously!

Agreed. I'm waiting for "Shelter" director Jeff Nichols' follow-up "Mud", which premiered at Cannes this year. It doesn't have a release date yet.

I hate how Indie Wire feels the need to editorialize the choice of Coppola's "Twixt", a film still unseen outside of France. Spare me the dogma, and make the film available. Coppola's last two films have been excellent, and nearly equally unseen. I swear that someone in Hollywood has it in for Francis.
