The setting is the 18th century, and the British are at war with Napoleon. Hornblower is an intellectual young midshipman who enters Her Majesty's Navy as a bullied recruit but quickly rises through the ranks to take command of his first ship and become a hero of the seas. In "Mutiny," Hornblower must deal with both Captain Sawyer (David Warner of TITANIC and TIME AFTER TIME)--who is brutally turning insane--and the Navy officials who want him court martialed and hanged. In "The Retribution," Hornblower faces an incompetent lieutenant replacement for Captain Sawyer and a difficult siege of an enemy fort. [More]
