So that must of been some hell of an email. I am still not to hot on the idea of him doing it, seriously the Horton guy?!? Also I think Jonah Hex is a mature character and he needs an R rating.

The point is not that he hs "the Horton Guy". He is a Pizar guy. And after all, don,t forget Favreau's biggest movies before Iron Man where kiddy flick- and not the best ones out there...

While it may be true that he did good work before Horton Hears a Who, he'll wear the Horton director's sign around his neck until he directs something worthwhile. He made the choice to direct that piece of kiddie crap for money instead of his long term future. So for now, we have Horton from Whoville directing Jonah Hex and that doesn't bode well for Jonah.
