Movie Info

Written by two-time Academy Award winner Horton Foote, "Alone" examines the life of farmer and recent widower John Webb (Cronyn) and what happens when a Texas oil man offers mineral rights to his land. His life is thrown into turmoil as his family becomes divided over the prospect of easy cash. A quiet, resonant depiction of the conflicts that arise between people as some pin their hopes on striking oil, while others turn their thoughts to hard work, friendship, and memories.
